A population is a group of individuals (all members of a single species) who live together in the same habitat and are likely to interbreed. Each population has a unique physical distribution in time and space. It may contain individuals of different ages, and its size (density) is likely to change over time. It grows or shrinks according to the reproductive success of its members.
It is reported that about 30 million tones of dry leaves are dumped into landfills every year in America. In India most of these leaves are either burnt on the floor where they fall or collected by poor people and stored for burning during winter season to generate heat.
Medicinal weed Argemone Mexicana or Satyanasi is a prickly weed. It has been introduced and naturalized in India. It grows as waste land weed in almost every part of the country. It is reported as crop weed also in many parts of the country.
Many squirrels had made nests in upper portions of offices by depositing huge balls of wool like materials between the rows of files and old registers. Many times and many men spotted some or the other squirrel coming to the rows of files and registers placed there since many-many years. But since squirrels usually don’t destroy papers, as I think, nobody ever tried to disturb them.
Most of you us have seen the Baya birds – peculiar birds of monsoon season. These beautiful birds are found in many states of India and of course in many other countries of the world. These birds are also found all over Java and Sumatra.
Abrupt changes in environment often do not give time to an organism to get ready and to face the challenges. As such the organism can survive only when it has sufficient abilities to tolerate these changes.
