Living organisms capable of synthesizing food on their own are called as plants. They contain chlorophyll, the green magnesium compound which helps in trapping the energy from sun. This energy runs the process of photosynthesis through which glucose is basically synthesized in leaves and green stems on combining together the atmospheric carbon dioxide and water.

Deforestation threatens our climate. Besides this, it threatens the livelihoods of 1.6 billion people who depend on forests for food and economic activities. They serve as habitats to rare and so far, undiscovered species of plants and animals. They also play a key role in maintaining water cycles and preventing floods and soil erosion. Hence, forests across the world need urgent measure of protection by all possible ways, may it be through alternatives to deforestation.

People who suffer from hunger remain undernourished. They don’t get enough food to eat. As such they don’t get energy, they need to live active lives. Undernourished persons remain unable to study, work or otherwise perform physical and mental activities. This condition is especially hard for women and children. Continuous hunger weakens the immune system and makes them vulnerable to diseases and infections. Mothers who suffer continuous hunger often give birth to underweight and weak babies, and they face increased risk of death.
