The biosphere is itself a vast ecosystem which incorporates all the small ecosystems. But, the biosphere may have different types of physical conditions, communities of plants and animals, and climatic conditions in its different zones.
Living beings in environment like animals and plants constitute more than half of the environment in the biosphere. All of these need to be conserved.
Many food items in India have some special values. These food items not only provide us many nutrients, they provide us many phytochemicals that protect our bodies from many external factors as well.
Ozone absorbs ultraviolet radiations so that much of it is never allowed to reach to the earth surface. The protective umbrella of ozone layer in the stratosphere protects the earth from harmful ultraviolet radiations. Ozone plays an important role in the biology and climatology on the earth’s environment. It filters out all the radiations that remain below 3000Å. Radiations below this wavelength are biologically harmful. Hence any depletion of ozone layer is sure to exert catastrophic impacts on life in the biosphere.
Though there are two basic types of leaves of monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous plants, we observe immense diversities in their arrangements, sizes, and shapes.
Some leaves are very short, as short as they cannot be seen through naked eyes where as there are big broad leaves that can form many umbrellas for small children.
Animals could be mainly divided into wild and domestic. However, the domestic animals that live under wild conditions are called Feral Animals. It is not very difficult to understand a domestic animal from a wild animal, by looking at them, as there are many differences exhibited between them.
Forests and wildlife are integral part of environment. Forests control climate, soil erosion and wildlife. They cause rains.
Both the banyan and tamarind trees have large canopy and plenty of leaves. These produce lots of oxygen and absorb lots of carbon dioxide. Thus, besides numerous other benefits they keep up the balance of environment.
Water is the principal constituent of our body. Water is chemically an inorganic, transparent, tasteless, odourless, and colourless. It is the main constituent of the hydrosphere of the earth.
